The hubby thinks…

I was browsing through my friendster page, actually looking for a certain photo. I ended up on hubby’s blog which he hasn’t updated for a long time (busy days came). This is one that certainly made me smile.

Nostalgic

July 29th, 2005 by momoneymohoney

Growing up may not turn out the way you planned it to be. When I was younger, I wanted to be a doctor and then a few years later I changed my mind and wanted to be a cab driver (back then, I just wanted to drive) but now I’m a self proclaimed artist (since I abandoned my job as an artist and I’m still looking for another). I’ve been drawing since I was a kid. Sometime sI have been tinkering with gadgets and electronic stuffs then I would be mixing soap with vinegar to see if there’d be any chemical reactions. I guess that makes me part artist, mechanic and scientist. Now I am still wondering why I’m not a doctor. I look back at my childhood as an experimental way of growing up, having more mistakes than choosing the right choices. Assumingly, I’m probably doing better than most of my childhood friends but sometimes I still think it would be nice to be a ten year old kid again, just enjoy life, no worries. Now, I expect my kids to enjoy the fun, ten times more than I enjoyed my childhood and I hope they would grow up to be ten times a better person than I am and when that happens I can finally say to myself that “I did good.”

Regalo

ucb

(Psalm 127:3 – Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.)

What is that that I am everyday thankful for? My kids. They are God’s most precious gift to me…nothing more to say. :D

When travelling, I prefer sitting by the window. Why? Coz I get the chance to do drive by photos (for which I have a separate blog). This is one of the many opps I had. We were on the train from Italy going back to Vienna, it was around 7:45 pm but because of the summer sun, the sky can still be clearly seen.

Fast

How many times have I shown my little boy sleeping in an unusual position? I’ve already lost count…

At times, I would find him sleeping at unlikely places. Above photo was just beside the bed, I guess he can’t contain those heavy eyes, he wasn’t able to reach the bed and slept there. Next would be, unbelievable as it may, the toilet. :D It doesn’t matter when, it doesn’t matter where, if he feels like it he closes his eyes and he is FAST asleep.

Sunbeam

Early morning sun through the window.

“Happiness is like a sunbeam, which the least shadow intercepts, while adversity is often as the rain of spring”

Liebe Mama…

Liebe Mama,One rainy morning, I spotted a middle-aged man writing on a piece of paper. I know it’s rude to look but I can’t help it when I saw that he has written “Liebe Mama,” as a greeting.

“Dear Mama,” considering that the man might be 40 years old…I was awed. I counted in my head how many times I wrote my parents a letter…snail mail that is, from when I left 7 years ago. Shame, the answer is null…save for two postcards which I sent from Lignano and Venice last year’s summer. There are 3 unsent postcards that I put unknowingly somewhere, those postcards where of Vienna,  Nürnberg and Paris. Though I communicate with my family via phone, chat, sms and emails I somehow miss writing on a sheet of paper and having it send through the post.

When was the last time you wrote a snail mail? For some point in my life I had that thrill of going to the mailbox and finding a letter from a friend instead of bills, advertisements and notices. It has a more personal touch to it I must say.

A few years back only a few people had email addresses. Today, every age group has an email or emails. Five year olds have it (signed up by their parents perhaps), as well as 80 year olds (assuming their eyes are still ok). Email is cheap to use and it’s faster too but there’s something about a letter that email will never touch.
