Liebe Mama…
One rainy morning, I spotted a middle-aged man writing on a piece of paper. I know it’s rude to look but I can’t help it when I saw that he has written “Liebe Mama,” as a greeting.
“Dear Mama,” considering that the man might be 40 years old…I was awed. I counted in my head how many times I wrote my parents a letter…snail mail that is, from when I left 7 years ago. Shame, the answer is null…save for two postcards which I sent from Lignano and Venice last year’s summer. There are 3 unsent postcards that I put unknowingly somewhere, those postcards where of Vienna, Nürnberg and Paris. Though I communicate with my family via phone, chat, sms and emails I somehow miss writing on a sheet of paper and having it send through the post.
When was the last time you wrote a snail mail? For some point in my life I had that thrill of going to the mailbox and finding a letter from a friend instead of bills, advertisements and notices.It has a more personal touch to it I must say.
A few years back only a few people had email addresses. Today, every age group has an email or emails. Five year olds have it (signed up by their parents perhaps), as well as 80 year olds (assuming their eyes are still ok). Email is cheap to use and it’s faster too but there’s something about a letter that email will never touch.

Play time!
The kids and I used to spend our free time at this playground. I would read a book and later take photos while they enjoy the slide, and everything in the swing set.
I once wrote that boredom is not in the dictionary of Viennese children. Child-development and well-being is very much a key concern in this city. Aside from lots of cultural (arts, music, dance), and sports development programs, play is an everyday enjoyment. The city sees to it that every neighborhood has a playground. At times…more than one. In our area alone, there is a playground just a minute’s walk from the door of the building. Another is on the opposite side where we just cross the pedestrian lane (that’s where the photos were taken). Walk on the other cluster of buildings and there’d be more playgrounds, complete with slides, seesaws and swings. There’d also be a big sandbox in which contents are replaced on certain months.
Rides (animals and vehicles) are also prolific, not just in the malls but also on the streets. Also, family fun parks have been sprouting in each district which promises really great enjoyment for the kids.
Anyway, the swing set was removed a few months back and only the sandbox along with the elephant rides were left. This saddened the kids of course, had we a yard to place such swing sets I’d make sure I’d buy them one, that with just like the photos here, a climbing wall, a rotating seat, slide, swing and bars. These are what makes playing enjoyable after all!

Tayong mga pinoy ay maraming paniniwala na minsan nakakatuwa, nakakaaliw kundi naman ay nakakainis. 
Di ko nais manuya or kung anuman pero palagi akong may duda sa mga kasabihan at tradisyon. Ano ang kinalaman ng litrato sa ating tema ngayon? Sabi nila kapag daw nakakakuha ka ng isang hibla ng damong ito, hulihin mo iyon, humiling ka at hipan ang hibla upang matupad. Wala akong alam na hiling na natupad sa ganito, kung mayroon mang nagyari, malamang ay coincidence.
Kanino ba nakadirekto ang mga hiling? Ang paniwala ko ay hindi sa Diyos kasi ang pakikipag-usap sa Diyos ay tinatawag na panalangin. Kaya siguro sinabi na” Be careful what you wish for, lest it come true,” kasi maaring masama o mabuti ang hilingin ng isang tao. At kung magkatotoo iyon malamang ay may nakikinig na ibang entity sa pagkakahiling at siya ang tumupad nun. Scary…Ingat lang.
