Honda Civic – A Choice Up Your List

Posted by on Jan 28, 2013 in Cars | 10 comments

Despite being toppled by Toyota’s Prius as the bestselling vehicle in California, Honda – not just the Civic but many of its makes are still getting good reviews. It is anyway a small margin in sales with Toyota selling 60,688 of the hybrid last year, while Honda sold 57,124 Civics. Still, there’s a handful reasons why you should pick a new or  used Honda Civic or its hybrid variant if you are contemplating on getting a new or a second car.

Tough bulletproof engine. Honda, regardless of its make, has built the reputation of being fuel-efficient over the years. Their small, high-revving engines are unbelievably efficient and extremely reliable. This alone should be reason enough to buy a Honda Civic – these engines are bulletproof, tough to the bottom so to speak. And with the introduction of the 1.6 liter diesel engine, it is lightest in its class.

Good interior space despite overall small dimensions. The Civic’s seating is ample in comparison with its competition, seating two adults or three kids in the rear seat. It’s the perfect size for a sedan or coupe, easy to maneuver, not needing big parking space and just enough space for luggage or weekly groceries. Yes, it’s the perfect-sized car for you…and your family.

Low maintenance and cheap to run. This front-wheel drive 4-door sedan or coupe gives you excellent collision protection, despite not being classified as solidly built as German cars, Honda cars are durable. It also has impressive fuel economy: 25 mpg around town and 36 mpg on the freeway – it is indeed an economical car.

The US Government’s NHTSA and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the Civic sedan with a rating of “Good” on both frontal and side impact crash tests and lists the Civic as the second-best 2007 small car in overall crash-worthiness.

Cheap to insure. Most of Honda car dealers will say that the Civic belong to the low insurance group of cars. Before making one of those car deals, make sure you have scouted online to compare on rates.

Readily available parts. Despite production in Japane being halted, the production for exports continue to this day, thus, Honda Civic parts are not as hard to find as other manufacturers would be. You have a big chance of finding what you need at the nearest dealer – no need to pre-order or wait longer.

I’m sure there’s more reason why the Honda Civic is the best car to buy, but preference wise – whatever deal you can get and modifications you do will make it all the more personal. Keep these points in mind when you find yourself in a pinch of choosing which car to buy.

toyota tacoma offers

love it

Buying a new vehicle is not like buying milk and eggs from the grocery store. It takes a lot of thinking and pencil-pushing to make the decision to buy a new vehicle, especially since it costs a lot of money. Aside from the aesthetics, you have to take into consideration what’s under the hood. You want to balance cost with performance and reliability. When you have chosen the kind of vehicle that you want, you can then go out and search for the best deals around. If you are looking for a tough vehicle, then you might want to take a look at Toyota Tacoma offers.

This Japanese car brand is a trusted name in automobiles. Although more popular for its sedans and vans, Toyota also has its line of trucks, SUVs, and hybrids. The Tacoma is a pick-up truck that was initially launched in 1995 as a compact. Now redesigned into a mini-sized pick-up, the Tacoma holds more promise for car buyers looking for a hardy vehicle with a variety of configuration options to choose from. Whether you are looking for a 4×4 off-road racer or a double cab pick-up, there is a Tacoma model to fit your preferences. The versatility and comfort of the Tacoma adds to the plus factors that make this line of pick-up trucks a bestseller in the market.

This product line allows vehicle shoppers to choose from several configurations when it comes to transmission, cab size, bed length, and engine. There are also recent improvements in the Tacoma’s audio systems and internal fittings. This year’s models are notably equipped with connectivity features such as Bluetooth and a USB/iPod port. The Entune system of the Tacoma also offers navigation features as well as text-to-voice capability, and real-time traffic and weather updates. All Tacoma pick-ups are also fitted with the standard safety features including anti-lock brakes and electronic brakeforce distribution mechanisms.

With all the features that you can find in the Tacoma, you can expect to pay quite a sum of money. Its average price is right around the $20,000 mark. While the regular cab is available at less than $20,000, the double cab model fetches a price that is close to $30,000. Of course, you also have to consider the accessories that you might want to add-on to the basic configuration. Finding out what deals you can get on this trusty pick-up truck line is the only way through which you can save some money on your vehicle purchase.

The Mercedes New A Class: Sports Car Chic in a Family Compact

Posted by on Aug 20, 2012 in Cars | 11 comments

It’s been two months since I went to the Vienna Autoshow, and what do you know?  The mercedes new A class debuted at the Geneva Motorshow!  I would have loved getting up close to this new family car from Mercedes Benz.  Many others who are in the market for small family cars are awaiting its retail in the coming month.  I recall reading about this new Benz model when the Telegraph made a review of  it some time ago.

Looking at the photographs, the new A class is a real keeper with its sleek and sporty look.  But, make no mistake about it, this new Mercedes is skilfully designed and engineered to take off from the racing circuit to coast through city and country roads.  You would love to drive off in a sporty looking hatchback while fitting your brood of kids comfortably at the back seat – although, this compact might be too tight for more than a couple of full-sized adults.  The trunk is also cramped at 341 liters in capacity, but since this new A class is a compact, being able to comfortably fit your baby stroller or maybe even a couple of suitcases in your boot is good enough.

Lovely in blue!

There is really nothing earth-shaking about the insides of the new A class.  Everything takes after a previous model or another brand.  What the manufacturers did was to breathe new life into class standard components by refining them and combining them to provide a fine ride for families in the C-segment.  Although still quite pricey at less than £19,000 for a basic model, industry sideliners are predicting that Mercedes will take its share of the market with a chunk of the C-segment clamouring for the new A class.

Of course, what’s a premium car without all the modern and techie bells and whistles.  Stepping up from the basic 4-cylinder 6-speed manual transmission model, you can choose your “add-ons” from Mercedes’ menu of upholstery and trim, equipment, and other accessories.  If you wish, you can switch from comfort suspension to sports suspension with speed sensitive power steering.  Other accessories like electric seat adjusters and navigation controls can also be availed of at additional costs.  When you have chosen your new A class premium family car, all you have to worry about are your “On-the-Road” costs which include your road excise duty, your registration fees, delivery charges, and cost of number plates.

I’ve featured other cars over at my other blog, feel free to see more of them by clicking here. Below is a cute pink and black Smart Brabus which I like a lot; perfect for the single lady but not for the family.
