Hiling

Kaya siguro sinabi na” Be careful what you wish for, lest it come true,” kasi maaring masama o mabuti ang hilingin ng isang tao.

Tulay/Bridge – Litratong Pinoy

Posted by on May 1, 2009 in gts, home stories, Litratong Pinoy, stock photos, Venice | 19 comments

Gondolas, waterways, one look and you know its Venice. A city in northern Italy, the capital of the region Veneto, Venice relies on water for its transportation. The city is connected by more or less 400 bridges. No wonder Venice has been nicknamed ‘The City of Bridges‘ and “The City of Waters‘ among others.

Venice is Europe’s largest urban car free area, unique in Europe in remaining a sizable functioning city in the 21st century entirely without motorcars or trucks.

Venice - flowers

I find myself posting flower photos again…Two memes in one post…

Flowers, whether as buds, in full bloom or withering are beautiful, I guess we are all drawn to their beauty.

These flowers are no exception, Venice’s architecture and culture are a wonderful sight, so are the flowers!

I am not sure what the first one is called, though it seems like orange bells, below are petunias.

Green Thumb Sunday – Grapes

Posted by on Jun 8, 2008 in gts, stock photos | 3 comments

We’ve had this grape plant since 2005. Hubby bought it from a nearby store with hopes that it would soon produce fruits. But since we do not know how old it already is at the time of purchase, we just waited every spring.

Sometime last month hubby called me out to the balcony and showed me some little round greens on it, finally it is producing fruits. I just forgot to take photos, but here they are now.

A closer look at the budding fruits.

Green Thumb Sunday – “A Hidden Garden in the City”

Posted by on May 25, 2008 in gts, stock photos | 8 comments

I’ve been in Vienna for almost 6 years, unfortunately I haven’t really ‘explored’ the city wholly. Some weeks ago, hubby and I decided to wander around since he has 2 weeks of vacation. Unfortunately, he got sick so he actually had most of the days staying at home.

By the end of his vacation though we did manage to visit Schloss Belvedere, a baroque palace and is said to be the summer house of Prince Eugene of Savoy.

Turns out that not only do they have a majestic garden but a well maintained park identifying trees, vegetables, plants and flowers. It happened to be almost the end of spring when we came so we were still able to photograph the tulips. Here are some photos I took, others will be featured in my other blog, Vienna Daily.
