The hubby thinks…

I was browsing through my friendster page, actually looking for a certain photo. I ended up on hubby’s blog which he hasn’t updated for a long time (busy days came). This is one that certainly made me smile.

Nostalgic

July 29th, 2005 by momoneymohoney

Growing up may not turn out the way you planned it to be. When I was younger, I wanted to be a doctor and then a few years later I changed my mind and wanted to be a cab driver (back then, I just wanted to drive) but now I’m a self proclaimed artist (since I abandoned my job as an artist and I’m still looking for another). I’ve been drawing since I was a kid. Sometime sI have been tinkering with gadgets and electronic stuffs then I would be mixing soap with vinegar to see if there’d be any chemical reactions. I guess that makes me part artist, mechanic and scientist. Now I am still wondering why I’m not a doctor. I look back at my childhood as an experimental way of growing up, having more mistakes than choosing the right choices. Assumingly, I’m probably doing better than most of my childhood friends but sometimes I still think it would be nice to be a ten year old kid again, just enjoy life, no worries. Now, I expect my kids to enjoy the fun, ten times more than I enjoyed my childhood and I hope they would grow up to be ten times a better person than I am and when that happens I can finally say to myself that “I did good.”

Liebe Mama…

Posted by on Dec 12, 2009 in thoughts | 3 comments

Liebe Mama,One rainy morning, I spotted a middle-aged man writing on a piece of paper. I know it’s rude to look but I can’t help it when I saw that he has written “Liebe Mama,” as a greeting.

“Dear Mama,” considering that the man might be 40 years old…I was awed. I counted in my head how many times I wrote my parents a letter…snail mail that is, from when I left 7 years ago. Shame, the answer is null…save for two postcards which I sent from Lignano and Venice last year’s summer. There are 3 unsent postcards that I put unknowingly somewhere, those postcards where of Vienna,  Nürnberg and Paris. Though I communicate with my family via phone, chat, sms and emails I somehow miss writing on a sheet of paper and having it send through the post.

When was the last time you wrote a snail mail? For some point in my life I had that thrill of going to the mailbox and finding a letter from a friend instead of bills, advertisements and notices. It has a more personal touch to it I must say.

A few years back only a few people had email addresses. Today, every age group has an email or emails. Five year olds have it (signed up by their parents perhaps), as well as 80 year olds (assuming their eyes are still ok). Email is cheap to use and it’s faster too but there’s something about a letter that email will never touch.

On being flawless

Posted by on Dec 7, 2009 in thoughts | 1 comment

Ever wonder why I seldom post pictures of myself? I bet you did, though I’ve been posting my kids’ photos, it’s not just because I am proud of them and that I enjoy my role as a photographer…I’m hiding behind the camera because of the skin treatment I am  undergoing and because of the extra fats I need to shed. Many would surely say that it doesn’t really matter how a person looks but society dictates otherwise. Women actually spend lots of money to achieve the beauty that they themselves define, that which makes them feel confident and ready to face the world.

In this age of technology, there are lots of services offered to be flawless…that means no extra fats, tight, fine and fair skin, no varicose veins, the photo-perfect look! However, there are methods that do not require months or years for you to achieve this. Sono bello body contours is one of the known clinic that offers this kind of service. They have the micro laser assisted body sculpting technique that permanently remove fats (and stubborn cellulites). Yes, a variation of liposuction sans anesthesia, swelling and stitches. According to the website, some of the patients who went through the procedure can immediately go back to work in 1 to 2 days. Sounds too good to be true? Then read what they have to say.

Procedures can be done on different parts of the body, not just the waist. It could be the chin, thighs,  hips, buttocks and so on. If one would ever decide to undergo a procedure to reduce unsightly fats, I suggest you try Sono bello. They definitely would remove your pain of low self-esteem painlessly!

The unity of the Filipinos has once again been demonstrated…Rescues and effort to help the victims of typhoon “Ondoy” have been out since Saturday when the heavy rains poured. Even facebook users stopped harvesting their crops on Farmville (and farmtown, country story, barn buddy etc) to take a pause and donate via text. I’m sure your facebook messageboard is flooded with stories, photos, videos of the flood and tha aftermath of it and lots of other details on where to send donations.

Along the stories; heroes, apathy and opportunism were born. One of the issues that became an overnight sensation was that of Jacque (sometimes Jackie) Bermejo…supposedly a Filipina working in Dubai who insensitively commented about the flood that happened. In a span of few hours, there were plurks and tweets and blog posts, forums and thread that were talking about her, threatening and cursing her along with her family, have been called names (whore being the gravest). United Filipinos bombarded and spewed hate words toward the poster. I don’t normally give a damn on stuff like this but there is something fishy about the whole thing…in a yahoo answer post, lots of newly made accounts were posting the same hate messages about her…profile shows that each user posted for that particular question only. The supposed Jacque who also posted the comment has no friends listed in her FB account…there are stiill loopholes on her supposed FB and multiply accounts if only one would really search….

Apparently, one of Jacque/Jackie’s account has been hacked (perhaps her email) and with that it was easy to access all her networking accounts, post her pictures and control all information too…just how much hatred can that hacker have to make someone suffer by posting stuff that will make the other lose face?

Anyway, this story is similar to that of the 2001 case of Art Bell, remember? the American broadcaster and author, known primarily as the founder and longtime host of the paranormal-themed radio program Coast to Coast AM, he was the subject of hate for a letter that circulated the internet (up until last year I received one) where he supposedly derogated the Filipinos. That ended up in Bell suing the Philippine Daily Inquirer for printing the letter.

Anyhoo, I think the person deserves the benefit of the doubt…lets wait for her side of the story…if this is identity theft, shame on the thief, if not oh well….

Preserving your properties

Posted by on Apr 28, 2009 in thoughts | Comments Off

A while back I wrote about buying lots during this time of economic turmoil…aside from acquiring them, there are ways on preserving such properties in case owners decide on using it later on. Property preservation is a unique sort of package offered to house owners and to mortgage companies. It is a task which is assigned to certain contractors to keep properties in the top of conditions.

Lawn maintenance, roof repair, Inspections, Evictions, Damage Estimates, Lock Changes, Roof Repair, Window Boarding, Debris/Hazard Material Removal, Lawn Maintenance, and General Contracting are some services offered by Maxim Enterprises Management, one of  the best in the industry of property preservation. They practice  technologies that  develops a business model that helps boost up client’s confidence by properly utilizing human resources and other tools.
