Gusali/Building – Litratong Pinoy

April 22, 2009

gusali-at-danube

When I showed photos of high-rise buildings in the city at my other blog, I got comments stating that some thought Vienna is only of old and classic buildings. Well, with preservation, the old buildings still thrive but modern architecture has also taken its place in the city.

This building is actually one of the Zuwanderer Fonds‘ apartments, which one can rent fully-furnished. The rent for this particular apartments cost from 500-960Euros depending on the area, which ranges from 29-59 sq mtrs. I guess because its very near the UNO city whose employees have bigger salaries than the usual (they do not pay tax to the city government).

(Rents in other Zuwanderer fond apartments differ.)

The zuwanderer fonds building is particularly opposite Tech Gate. These two buildings are separated by a main street and the U1 trainline as you see part of the tracks in above photo. I was standing on the platform when I took this shot, I wanted to actually take a photo of the church’s spires but I wasn’t carrying my zoom lens so I settled for the buildings as the sun sets and gives off this subtle colors.

Happy LP!

    Nice shots, G!

  2. panalo na naman mga photos mo sis! I love all three lalo na yung first, pang postcard din dating 🙂

    Happy LP

  3. Sana maipaglaban din natin ang local conservation efforts sa Pilipinas… it would be a dream to have our old colonial establishments mingle with skyscrapers… sigh…
Thanks for showing us this angle of Vienna.

  4. Lagi talagang ok ang mga pix mo, i’ve been there but i did not take any picture, nice shots, yup you’re right gasthaus yung bldg na green and yellow

  5. wow, that’s a totally different side to vienna nga. 🙂 pero siyempre, parang mas nasa utak ko pa rin yung classic buildings at architecture that your city is known for. 🙂

  7. i applaud cities which can carefully balance respect for the past by way of preserving architectural icons from its history, while carefully erecting productive, purposeful buildings for the future =] thanks for this tour of vienna!

  10. nice! and i agree, before i visited vienna, i thought everything would be old. but i was surprised to see amazingly modern architecture, in particular hollein’s haas haus opposite st. stephens 😉
