Worth it: a Stay at Home Mom

May 27, 2008
While bloghopping I chanced upon Mom’s Frugal post for May 15. It is about Fox News’ report on what a Stay at Home Mom would earn if she is compensated for working at home.

Sahm’s work at home not just out of responsibility but yes, it is because of love, but if the daily work they do is to be compensated, they’ll earn almost 117,000$ a year or 9750$ a month! Unbelievable? Not really, stay at home moms work more hours for overtime than a regular employee would. One mom even said that this is quite low. But no matter, compensated or not, SahMoms would stay SahMoms for the satisfaction they get knowing that she did everything she could at the end of the day for her loved ones!

  1. Well, you definitely have to be selfless to be a mom. You have to set aside all of your wants and desires, at least for a while.

It is worth every minute, every day, every sacrifice to hear the little ones say I love you for the first time.

Our compensation definitely comes in many ways, none of which have a cash value. I agree though, the spouse and kids should make an effort to recognize mom, no only one day a year.

    Great point to post about.
