Guiness World Records holder for beingย the most awarded female act of all time, Whitney Houston, died today (February 11, 2012) at the age of 48.
ย ยHer accolades include 2 Emmy Awards, 6 Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, 22 American Music Awards, among a total of 415 career awards as of 2010. Houston is also one of the worldโs best-selling music artists, having sold over 170 million albums and singles worldwide.
Among her hits that will live on as her legacy were โOne Moment in Time,โ โHow Will I Know,โ โSaving All My Love for Youโ and โI Will Always Love Youโ (above video).
Drug abuse is purportedly the cause of her death. In recent years it will be recalled thatย her majestic voice and regal image were ravaged by drug use, erratic behavior and a tumultuous marriage to singer Bobby Brown.
