For this week’s theme I’m not choosing classical way of Mary Poppins and the Sound of Music or anything groovy since I can’t remember any lol. I would instead pick one from the musical movies that my daughter loves to watch, Barbie 3D movies. Each of these Barbie movies has a dancing scene most notable are ballet routines inspired by classic symphonies. For instance, the lead titles Nutcracker and Swan Lake were inspired by Tchaikovsky’s ballet.
In the video is part of Barbie in the 12 Dancing Princesses with the princesses dancing to Felix Mendelssohn’s Italian Symphony or Symphony Number 4.
The story is loosely based on the story of the same name by the Brothers Grimm. Twelve princesses sleep in twelve beds in the same room; every night their doors are securely locked, but in the morning their shoes are found to be worn through as if they had been dancing all night. In the film, the princesses were each given a name and centers on Genevieve and their love for dancing. The movie is as charming as other Barbie movies, I think that’s why they came up with the idea of a computer game where kids are taught to dance ballet.
