Favorite…

D, my youngest son, has this habit of shouting “Liebling ko yan!” (that’s my favorite) when we eat out or when we’re at the grocery pointing to his favorite food.  One time as he was lying down beside me (lumalambing), I imitated him (tone).

Mom: Liebling kita! (You’re my favorite)
He looked at me and smiled shyly.
D: Wirklich, liebling mo ako? (Really, I’m your favorite?)
G: oo (yes)
D: Aber hindi naman ako pagkain…(but I’m not food!)

Harhar, oh my son, not only food could be favorites…
