The film stars Anne Hathaway as Fantine who alsoΒ sang βI Dreamed a Dreamβ in this trailer. Fantine is the a struggling factory worker and mother of her illegitimate child, Cosette, she is eventually forced to turn to prostitution.Β Hugh JackmanΒ plays Jean Valjean, once a prisoner pursued by Inspector Javert, a dedicated policeman played by Russell Crowe. Other stars in the roster are Eddie Redmayne (Marius Pontmercy),Β Amanda Seyfried (Cosette),Β Sacha Baron Cohen (ThΓ©nardier),Β Helena Bonham Carter Madame (ThΓ©nardier),Β Samantha Barks (Γponine)Β andΒ Aaron Tveit (Enjolras).
This is a big undertaking considering the success of the musical, the book behind its story and performances that brought Le Mis to where it is in history now. But letβs keep our hopes up. ^_^
