Parents who miss their children or those who are reluctant to see their grown-up children leave their nest can only wish that they could turn back the time to when the children were still little. Even with modern technology, man still hasn’t found a way to travel through time. However, there is a way for us to freeze time and go back to it anytime we wish. Photographs and memories allow us to capture special moments with our loved ones and keep it alive in our hearts.

Keeping Memories
People decide to stop taking pictures or fail to have their kids’ portraits taken for different reasons. But, picture taking isn’t something that we should take for granted. There may come a time when our memory fails us and the only thing that we can hold on to is the image of our past. A year without a photograph is like a year gone missing in our memory lane. As parents, having your kids’ portraits done every year is an investment in the future joys that it will bring for the family. The children may not appreciate their photographs during the awkward stages of their teens but this will change when they start having their own kids. Photos that show a person’s transformation from childhood to adulthood are also great materials for presentations on weddings, commemorative events and other special occasions.
Holding Sentiments
Something I should have done as soon as I gave birth to Una. Sadly I lost all of her first year photos, my hard drive crashed. 🙁 We will definitely have one Christmas (family) and on her birthday.
Oh my, you guys don’t have any backup? How about printed ones?
oh yes! i agree with you, as a matter of fact i have it for my two boys, from 0 age til this day 🙂
Wow, you really are doing a great job preserving and safe keeping them. I wish I can do or we can do the same.
It’s always nice to look back at old photos and relive memories. Sometimes we need to capture those priceless memories and moments in photographs as it can help us in appreciating how far we’ve been and so goes for kids. We like to see how far they’ve gone and remember those timestamps through photographs.
Very nice analogy Franc. Indeed photos are treasure we can really keep that makes us appreciate the life we have specially with the kiddos around.
I agree. Photos are meant to immortalize special periods in our lives so we’ll have something to look back to as we reminisce good times. I admit I’m guilty of not being able to do this. Inasmuch as I would like to commit everything to memory, I don’t think it’s possible. 🙁 Thank goodness for Facebook! At least, there are several pictures I can pore over when I feel like going back in time.
You hit the right word or term Bambie, photos are meant to immortalize. It preserves the memories indeed.
Video presentations about the groom and bride during receptions are some of my most favorite parts of a wedding. My only issue is my kiddo hates facing the camera. But I click anyway (bahala sya, lol)
P.S. Are these models your girls sis? Ang gaganda!
just one kid sis, my daughter when she was 3 and then at 10 🙂
Sometimes it’s much better when your kiddo doesn’t love facing the camera. You can take a pic of him via a stolen shot. Much more natural looking right?
oh yes! Photographs do capture special memories. I am half way off with my eldest first year of life album. Thanks to digital scrap booking…
That’s what we do as well. Digital scrap booking. But we do have a physical album as well.
one thing I regret so much… I only had few photos taken when Ryz was growing up. Even her video of her 1st birthday was lost. 🙁
too much memories lost…
Aww sorry to hear that. We tend to take photos of our kids every month to document their growth and we make sure that all photos are safe in print and in digital.
Thanks for the inventor of camera, we can document the growth of our children and the feeling of getting their pictures, either stolen or not is beyond compare. I do love to take portraits of my kids.
Me too, love taking photos of my kids as well. We compile them in an album of them.
Yes to capture life’s moment whenever possible. Life is too short to easily give up on this little yet cool habit. It will bring delight on the future. Photos can make everyone reminisce bittersweet memories.
Very well said Yani! Two thumbs up for your comment.
Whenever possible, we always take a photo of our family, the kids, the parents and the whole gang. Photos are evidence of a cherished life.
