I’m an 80’s child and so is hubby. He was an artist then, still an artist now. I was an artist now, am frustrated now. 😀 The turtles are the characters that we both love drawing…now I can just draw simple turtles lol.
Back then, it was one of the coolest TV shows we know (along with Transformers, Daimos and Voltes V – a handful more, go ahead and list your favorite). So when the news that they’re making a sequel sometime in 2007, hubby and I were excited and waiting. We love TMNT – comics or cartoons…
The Turtles include 4 humanoid turtles named Raphael, Michaelangelo, Donatello and Leonardo, names of famous renaissance artists. The story is set in Manhattan where a group of Ninja clan – the Foot clan led by Shredder is terrorizing the city. They’d be the recurring characters in 3 films; Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze in 1991, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III in 1993. In alll 3 films we see three regular characters…April O’neill – a news reporter in the cartoon series, but was originally a computer programmer, Master Splinter; in the comics’ story he is a pet rat of a Hamato Yoshi, a ninja but in the cartoon series, he is Yoshi mutated to a humanoid rat skilled with ninja arts..and there’s Casey Jones, a vigilante who was at first Raphael’s rival but later on became an ally.
In 2007 came TMNT, a CGI film. This time, the main antagonist Shredder isn’t therel, instead they battle 13 monsters that are out of this world which was eventually led to earth by an immortal named Max Winters (originally Yaotl). April, Splinter and Casey are seen in the movie along with Karai, Shredders’ right-hand and adopted daughter…
It was fun watching the last installment as was the 3 earlier installments. At home, we rewatched everything from the beginning after watching the 4th movie from the cinema. A walk down memory lane for hubby and I.

Trivia: Ernie Reyes, Jr. who played Keno, a pizza delivery boy who meets the turtles in the beginning of the film and befriends them is a Filipino.
