I don’t consider myself apathetic nor ungrateful but Mother’s day is one of the many traditions that I don’t observe. Don’t go raising your eyebrows…I love my mom. I just don’t like the idea behind why Mother’s day is celebrated. The bible points to an observation of a certain day, of Mother worship that God wasn’t so happy about in the book of Jeremiah. Mother worship dates back to ancient Greece and Rome perhaps even as early as the Babylonians with their goddess Ishtar.
Don’t get me wrong, I am really thankful of my mom, but as a Christian I wouldn’t want to disappoint God.
